5 of My Favorite Places to Eat Gluten-Free in Waterloo Region
1. Beertown
Beertown has an AMAZING gluten-free menu. Not only do they have GF buns so you can make almost any of their sandwiches/burgers GF, but they also have a fryer dedicated to GF options. I’m talking calamari (literally obsessed with menu item – they also offer a vegan chipotle aioli for all you dairy-free ladies and gents), GF mac and cheese, GF pad thai and lots more. They also have GF beverage options such as beer and cocktails. The servers are also super accommodating if you ask for advice!
Favourtie Menu Item : California Turkey Burger (mods: GF bun, vegan lime aoili) with a Kale/Blueberry side salad.
2. State and Main
State and Main is absolutely amazing when it comes to allergy awareness. They not only cater to people who are GF but also try their very best to accommodate to almost any allergy you can think of. In terms of GF eats they unfortunately don’t have a dedicated fryer but will clean off sections of their grill to accommodate people with severe allergies. They do offer GF buns, a pho bowl and will modify things such as their tuna tartar to be gluten-friendly. They also carry GF beers and different kinds of liquor as well.
Favourite Menu Item : Grilled Chicken Club (mods: GF bun, sub goat cheese) with side sweet potatoes and a mixed green salad.

3. Café Pyrus
I love this café because they have GF and vegan options. They also use fair-trade organic ingredients and use sustainable packaging, on top of their food being amazing. Their menu has everything from sandwiches to salads to bagels to smoothies to lattes. All their GF options are listed on their menu to make it easy for you to order as well!

4. Taco Farm
HOLY I love this place. I love tacos, like if I could have one last meal on earth – tacos. Taco Farm is completely celiac friendly. On top of having fresh-made tacos of all sorts, they also have GF calamari, fried chicken and even GF desserts, as well as beverages.
Favourite Menu Item : literally everything … but their cauliflower tacos are really good.
5. Marbles
Marbles is an adorable restaurant in uptown Waterloo. I honestly would just go here for the vibes. They have lots of GF options like their corn-battered fish and chips, chicken wings, nachos and pastas with noodles from NUDL.
