Facial Rolling - The Deets

I’m sure at this point almost everyone has seen a facial roller, whether it be rose quartz, jasmine, jade, opal or who knows. Not only are they chic looking, but are also incredibly beneficial for your skin health. I’m here to tell you exactly how it can be beneficial.

Facial rolling is a technique that has been used for centuries to increase circulation, stimulate lymphatic drainage and keep your skin glowing.

How to use:
1. Start by either heating or cooling your facial roller - I prefer to cool mine by placing it in the fridge, it helps to wake me up!
2. Make sure you have a bare face!
3. Begin by choosing a section of your face and rolling in an upwards motion 3 times. Towards your ears on the lower portion of your face and towards the top of your head on the upper portion.
*The larger part of the roller is used for your cheeks/forehead, while the smaller part is used for your under eyes and around your mouth*
4. Once you’ve rolled your entire face pick your favorite facial oil (mine is avocado) and moisturize!!

But what are the actual benefits of facial rolling?? Well …

  • Lymphatic Drainage

  • Increased circulation

  • Increased Hydration - because of increased circulation to your skins surface, your ability to retain moisture within your skin is improved.

  • Decrease in Scarring - again increased circulation helps to bring nutrients to the skins surface that are necessary to heal previously broken and irritated skin.

  • More Even Skin-Tone

  • Decreased Fine Lines/Wrinkles - due to increased circulation the surface of your skin begins to even out as more blood is available to fill wrinkles and fine lines.

  • Decrease in Puffiness/Inflammation - due to enhancement of lymphatic drainage, your face becomes less inflamed and puffiness/water retention will decrease.

For me personally, facial rolling is also just part of my daily routine. Whether it be when I wake up in the morning or before I go to bed, I find it brings me a sense of calmness.

I got my facial roller from an online store, but you can easily pick one up to try from winners. They also sell on amazon and are typically inexpensive!
